Various Artists: Weedian "Trip to Greece" (2021) Post-Rock

Various Artists: Weedian
"Trip to Greece"
(2021)

Sharp, strong sound. A fast rock achievement provided by post-rock musicians. There are post-rock bands around the world. In general, most of them play instrumental rock. This compilation has songs where there are bands with vocals. I absolutely recommend it to fans of this post-metal, apocalyptic, doom sound.

Oda O Odanosti - Ode To Loyalty"

Outcome On Gunpoint

Ishod Na Nišanu

"Ode to Loyalty"

Thought ...

Like a razor, like a flash of light like a red diamond, like a dot.

*

A boat full of feelings is flying these days

With a crust of heavy imagination

Unreachable ideal

In funeral gowns

With empty hands - with no sense

A little different from understanding anything

On the horizon of a magnificent sight

Under masks

Under dry branches

With the feeling of stuck rotten leaves on the soles

With tears in his eyes and big pupils full of obedience and fear ...

Then, it means a lot

An ode to loyalty

In trouble

On a stone path

Among the thorns

On the edge...

"Oda O Odanosti"

Misao, misao, misao...

Kao oštrica brijača, kao udar svetla kao crveni dijamant, kao tačka.

*

Jurca ovih dana barka puna osećanja,

Sa korom tvrde mašte,

Nepostižnih ideala

U odorama

Praznih ruku - bez smisla

Malo drugačije od poimanja bilo čega

Na obzorju veličanstvenog prizora

Pod maskama

Ispod suvih grana

Sa osećajem zalepljenog trulog lišća po tabanima

Sa suzama u očima i velikim zenicama punih pokornosti i straha...

Tada, puno znači

Oda o odanosti

U neprilici

Na kamenoj stazi

Među trnjem

Na ivici...

Jean Cocteau (1889-1963), French poet, novelist, dramatist, designer, playwright, artist and filmmaker. Picture was taken in 1923: glass negative restored and cropped print.

Jean Cocteau

Jean Maurice Eugène Clément Cocteau (5 July 1889 – 11 October 1963) was a French poet, playwright, novelist, designer, filmmaker, visual artist, and critic. He was one of the foremost creatives of the surrealist, avant-garde, and Dadaist movements; and one of the most influential figures in early 20th-century art as a whole. The National Observer suggested that “of the artistic generation whose daring gave birth to Twentieth-Century Art, Cocteau came closest to being a Renaissance man.”

He is best known for his novels Le Grand Écart (1923), Le Livre Blanc (1928), and Les Enfants Terribles (1929); the stage plays La Voix Humaine (1930), La Machine Infernale (1934), Les Parents terribles (1938), La Machine à écrire (1941), and L'Aigle à deux têtes (1946); and the films The Blood of a Poet (1930), Les Parents Terribles (1948), Beauty and the Beast (1946), Orpheus (1949), and Testament of Orpheus (1960), which alongside Blood of a Poet and Orpheus constitute the so-called Orphic Trilogy. He was described as "one of [the] avant-garde's most successful and influential filmmakers" by AllMovie. Cocteau, according to Annette Insdorf, “left behind a body of work unequaled for its variety of artistic expression.

The Holy Terrors (Les Enfants Terribles)

Cocteau's novel Les Enfants Terribles, which was first published in 1929, holds an undisputed place among the classics of modern fiction.

Written in a French style that long defied successful translation―Cocteau was always a poet no matter what we was writing―the book came into its own for English-language readers in 1955 when this translation was completed by Rosamund Lehmann. It is a masterpiece of the art of translation of which the Times Literary Supplement said: "It has the rare merit of reading as though it were an English original." Lehrmann was able to capture the essence of Cocteau's strange, necromantic imagination and to bring fully to life in English his story of a brother and sister, orphaned in adolescence, who build themselves a private world out of one shared room and their own unbridled fantasies. What started in games and laughter because for Paul and Elisabeth a drug too magical to resist. The crime which finally destroys them has the inevitability of Greek tragedy. Illustrated with twenty of Cocteau's own drawings.

Masters Of Black and White Photography: Man Ray 01 | Photographer, Visual Artist

Man Ray
American Photographer

Man Ray, born  Emmanuel Radnitzky (August 27, 1890 – November 18, 1976) was an American visual artist who spent most of his career in Paris. He was a significant contributor to the Dada and Surrealist movements, although his ties to each were informal. He produced major works in a variety of media but considered himself a painter above all. He was best known for his pioneering photography, and he was a renowned fashion and portrait photographer. Man Ray is also noted for his work with photograms, which he called "rayographs" in reference to himself.

Man Ray's birth name was Emmanuel Radnitzky. He was born in South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on August 27, 1890. He was the eldest child of Russian Jewish immigrants Melech "Max" Radnitzky, a tailor, and Manya "Minnie" Radnitzky (Lourie or Luria). He had a brother, Sam, and two sisters, Dorothy "Dora" and Essie (or Elsie), the youngest born in 1897 shortly after they settled in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. In early 1912, the Radnitzky family changed their surname to Ray. Man Ray's brother chose the surname in reaction to the ethnic discrimination and antisemitism prevalent at the time. Emmanuel, who was called "Manny" as a nickname, changed his first name to Man and gradually began to use Man Ray as his name.
Man Ray's father worked in a garment factory and ran a small tailoring business out of the family home. He enlisted his children to assist him from an early age. Man Ray's mother enjoyed designing the family's clothes and inventing patchwork items from scraps of fabric.

Man Ray wished to disassociate himself from his family background, but their tailoring left an enduring mark on his art. Mannequins, flat irons, sewing machines, needles, pins, threads, swatches of fabric, and other items related to tailoring appear in almost every medium of his work. Art historians have noted similarities between Ray's collage and painting techniques and styles used for tailoring. Mason Klein, curator of a Man Ray exhibition at the Jewish Museum in New York, Alias Man Ray: The Art of Reinvention, suggests that the artist may have been "the first Jewish
avant-garde artist."

Man Ray was the uncle of the photographer Naomi Savage, who learned some of his techniques and incorporated them into her own work.

In July 1921, Man Ray went to live and work in Paris, France. He soon settled in the Montparnasse quarter favored by many artists. His accidental rediscovery of the cameraless photogram, which he called "rayographs", resulted in mysterious images hailed by Tristan Tzara as "pure Dada creations".

The Second World War forced Man Ray to return from Paris to the United States. He lived in Los Angeles from 1940 to 1951 where he focused his creative energy on painting. A few days after arriving in Los Angeles, Man Ray met Juliet Browner, a first-generation American of Romanian-Jewish lineage. She was a trained dancer, who studied dance with Martha Graham, and an experienced artists' model. The two married in 1946 in a double wedding with their friends Max Ernst and Dorothea Tanning. In 1948 Man Ray had a solo exhibition at the Copley Galleries in Beverly Hills, which brought together a wide array of work and featured his newly painted canvases of the Shakespearean Equations series.

English:

"Snake, Scorpio and Spider"

Silence is a friend of lonely people and this space is absolute freedom ... "- thought a lonely man, who was walking through the desert and moving towards his oasis.

"What the trees tell me, what the birds sing and what the animal's squeal and roar ... is a symphony. The warm wind that whistles and the sun that blazes and ... rain ... when it rains ... what a gift from heaven, a holiday over holidays ... " - the optimistic loner approached his oasis with excitement. "Glory to Nature, Glory to Heaven and Everything" - he raised his hands to the sky and felt an unusually cold wind.

"Perhaps something is wrong?" - at this thought, the man was bitten, at the same time, by a snake, a scorpion, and a spider.

Srpski:

"Zmija, Škorpion I Pauk"

„ Slava Prirodi, Slava Nebu i Svemu“ – on podiže ruke ka nebu i oseti neobično hladan vetar.
