Best Albums Ever: Chick Corea - Now He Sings, Now He Sobs / jazz, piano jazz, free jazz

Armando Anthony "Chick" Corea (June 12, 1941 – February 9, 2021) was an American jazz composer, keyboardist, bandleader, and occasional percussionist. His compositions "Spain", "500 Miles High", "La Fiesta", "Armando's Rhumba" and "Windows" are widely considered jazz standards. As a member of Miles Davis's band in the late 1960s, he participated in the birth of jazz fusion. In the 1970s he formed Return to Forever.[4] Along with McCoy Tyner, Herbie Hancock, and Keith Jarrett, Corea is considered one of the foremost jazz pianists of the post-John Coltrane era.

AllMusic Review by Stephen Thomas Erlewine

Recorded over a year after Chick Corea's debut Tones for Joan's Bones -- a record cut in late 1966 but not appearing until 1968 -- Now He Sings, Now He Sobs feels like his true first album, the place where he put all the pieces in motion for his long, adventurous career...

Ishod Na Meti:

"Nezaboravno Se Kreće"

12

Nezaboravno se kreće,

Oluja u opravdanom rasulu,

Ne bira,

Podiže decu i čupa drveće.

Nezaboravno se kreće,

Sve oko tebe i sve oko mene,

U tebi u meni, kroz, oko i za nas.

Nezaboravno se kreće,

I ta ne pažnja,

Crnog vladara nesreće,

Odrpanog pustolova,

U nestvarnom odsustvu,

Koje je malom merom mereno,

I još manje ga je ostalo.

Nezaboravno se kreće,

Raduje se i susreće,

Licem u lice,

I sada i za u buduće.

Nezaboravno se kreće,

Ne propuštaj ni trenutak!

Opio sam se trezvenošću,

Više me ništa tako napiti ne može,

Sanjaj me dobro,

Neka bude večno u zagrljaju, slobodno.

The Movie, Lesson About Life 34 - Hour of the Wolf - Vargtimmen - Време Вука (1968) Ingmar Bergman / drama, horor, Sweden

Ingmar Bergman
Hour of the Wolf

The strangest and most disturbing of the films Ingmar Bergman shot on the island of Fårö, Hour of the Wolf stars Max von Sydow as a haunted painter living in voluntary exile with his wife (Liv Ullmann). When the couple are invited to a nearby castle for dinner, things start to go wrong with a vengeance, as a coven of sinister aristocrats hastens the artist’s psychological deterioration. This gripping film is charged with a nightmarish power rare in the Bergman canon, and contains dreamlike effects that brilliantly underscore the tale’s horrific elements.

The Hour of the Wolf" is the hour between night and dawn. It is the hour when most people die. It is the hour when the sleepless are haunted by their deepest fear, when ghosts and demons are most powerful.

Hour of the Wolf (Swedish: Vargtimmen, lit. 'The Wolf Hour') is a 1968 Swedish psychological horror[n 1] film directed by Ingmar Bergman and starring Max von Sydow and Liv Ullmann. The story explores the disappearance of fictional painter Johan Borg (von Sydow), who lived on an island with his wife Alma (Ullmann) while plagued with frightening visions and insomnia.

Bergman originally conceived much of the story as part of an unproduced screenplay, The Cannibals, which he abandoned to make the 1966 film Persona. He took inspiration from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's 1791 opera The Magic Flute and E. T. A. Hoffmann's 1814 novella The Golden Pot, as well as some of his own nightmares. Principal photography took place at Hovs Hallar, Stockholm and Fårö.

Themes include insanity, particularly as experienced by an artist, sexuality, and relationships, conveyed in a surreal style and with elements of folklore. Analysts have found allusions to vampire and werewolf legend. Authors have also connected the work to Bergman's life and his relationship with Ullmann; Bergman said he was experiencing his own "hour of the wolf" when he conceived the story.

The film was initially met with negative reviews in Sweden. In later years Hour of the Wolf received generally positive reviews and was ranked one of the 50 greatest films ever made in a 2012 directors' poll by the British Film Institute. The film was followed by Bergman's thematically related films Shame (1968) and The Passion of Anna (1969). Ullmann won awards in 1968 for her performances in both Hour of the Wolf and Shame.

Irena Bijelić Gorenjak - ikone, icons, icône

Irena Bijelich Gorenjak (1972, Belgrade, Serbia) makes paintings and mixed media artworks. By applying abstraction, Bijelich tries to approach a wide scale of subjects in a multi-layered way by using a large number of materials sand, stone, plaster, zeolite, earth, pigment, paper, canvas, acrylic, oil...She likes to involve the viewer in a way that is sometimes physical and believes in the idea of function following form in a work. Her paintings directly respond to the surrounding environment and uses experiences from the artist as a starting point.Often these are framed instances that would go unnoticed in their original context like hole, crater, circle, cracks, cleft...By exploring the concept of landscape in a nostalgic way, she creates intense personal moments masterfully created by means of rules and omissions, acceptance and refusal, luring the viewer round and round in circles.
Her works establish a link between the landscape’s reality and that imagined by its conceiver. These works focus on concrete questions that determine our existence. With a conceptual approach, she investigates the dynamics of landscape, including the manipulation of its effects and the limits of spectacle based on our assumptions of what landscape means to us.Rather than presenting a factual reality, an illusion is fabricated to conjure the realms of our imagination.
Her works doesn’t reference recognisable form. The results are deconstructed to the extent that meaning is shifted and possible interpretation becomes multifaceted.By rejecting an objective truth and global cultural narratives, she creates with daily, recognizable elements, an unprecedented situation in which the viewer is confronted with the conditioning of his own perception and has to reconsider his biased position. Her work urge us to renegotiate painting as being part of a reactive or – at times – autistic medium, commenting on oppressing themes in our contemporary society.
She is also an icon painter

Education

Ishod Na Meti:

"Nezaboravno Se Kreće"

12

Nije to samo zla slutnja kod zavisnika, zavidnika ili melanholika,

Nisu u pitanju ni besmislene rasprave o opštim mestima,

Upravo je ta, najveća slika, ništa drugo već obična promenljiva pozadina, gde se sve ubija, zakopava i zaboravlja.

Tu priču o jednookom gusaru i zakopanom blagu, sam davno čuo...

Nisam ni najcrnjom slutnjom, slutio da sam za jednookim, mračnim i malo kome, vidljivim gusarom, kao hipnotisani malili duh, potrčao...

Takav zamak bola, gde se i kamen od straha prepao!

Koliko dugo sam tamo vremena proveo?

Za mene se borba vodila pod ulicom u splinovima i u smoli,

Nosio sam sve to sa sobom i srce više nemam, poklonio sam ga tebi.

Snena o zloj slutnji, sluti sama,

Više je nema,

Zarobljena je u parčetu bačenog i razbijenog ogledala.

Best Albums Ever: L7 - Bricks Are Heavy

L7
is an American rock band founded in Los Angeles, California, first active from 1985 to 2001 and re-formed in 2014. Their longest standing lineup consists of Suzi Gardner (vocals, guitar), Donita Sparks (vocals, guitar), Dee Plakas (drums, vocals) and Jennifer Finch (bass, vocals). L7 has released seven studio albums and has toured widely in the US, Europe, Japan, Australia, and South America. "Pretend We're Dead" was heavily played on US alternative radio and entered the top 10 on the Billboard Modern Rock chart in 1992. Recognized for being simultaneously subversive and infused with humor, L7 is known for consistently delivering spirited live performances with physical, ferocious sets. Due to their sound and image, L7 is often associated with the grunge movement of the late 1980s and early 1990s; As an all-female band, L7 formed Rock for Choice in 1991 and have, at times, also been linked to riot grrrl, although they preceded and are outliers of both the grunge and riot grrrl movements. The band's name, L7, derives from a slang term for square, and was deliberately chosen as a gender neutral sign. A documentary film about the band, L7: Pretend We're Dead, premiered in 2016.

Bricks Are Heavy is the third studio album by American rock band L7, released on April 14, 1992 by Slash Records. The album peaked at number 160 on the US Billboard 2001 and number one on the Heatseekers Albums chart.

Bricks Are Heavy is a worthwhile album to have in your collection, "Shitlist" is a fantastic hard hitting song (also from the Natural Born Killers Soundtrack) ...
